Counter Culture Drinks becomes a Certified B Corporation
Bristol-based kombucha producer joins the growing movement of companies using business as a force for good
(Bristol, UK / 13th September 2024) - Exciting news! Counter Culture Drinks has just become a certified B Corporation (or B Corp)! We’re thrilled to join a growing tribe of companies shaking up the business world for the good of all people and our planet. This certification, backed by B Lab, shows that we’re committed to high social and environmental standards, transparency, and accountability—because it’s about more than just profit!
With the climate crisis and social inequality knocking at our doors, it’s more important than ever to step up. B Corp Certification takes a deep dive into everything we do, covering five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. It’s a tough process; we had to score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment while proving our responsible practices around energy, waste, water, worker pay, diversity, and corporate transparency. Plus, we legally baked our commitment to purpose into our company articles—because we believe in doing good while doing business.
We’re now part of an amazing community of over 8,000 businesses worldwide that have earned their B Corp status. Did you know the UK has one of the largest and fastest-growing B Corp communities? With over 1,700 companies across various industries, we’re in great company—think The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, and Tony’s Chocolonely, just to name a few.
Together, we’re not just redefining success; we’re building a movement. So, join us in this journey! Let’s create a positive impact together—because when we say “Counter Culture,” we mean it!
Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, says:
“Welcoming Counter Culture Drinks to the B Corp community is hugely exciting. Its commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and will help spread the notion that success in business is as much about people and planet as it is profit.”
